I don't condone non-consensual sexual intercourse in marriage, but any marital rape law will destroy the main element of marriage, which is trust.

How can a husband make love to his wife, without fear that his wife, for whatever reason, will make a report to the police the next day that she has been raped by her own husband?

Does he need an authorisation letter from his wife every time they are going to have sex? Or does he need to videotape every sexual act they do as proof that their sexual acts are consensual, in case their sexual acts are to investigated by the police?

With the possibility of 20 years in jail and/or 20 lashings, the husband will not be able to trust his wife anymore. We have to find another way to help marital rape victims without destroying trust in marriage.
