Umno Youth Khairy Jamaluddin has been urged to file a complaint with the party disciplinary board over the allegation that his wing's leaders are plotting to topple Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak.

In making the call, MYKMU.net said Khairy should take the initiative to "clear the wing" with regard to this purported serious misconduct.

"At the same time, he can prevent himself being linked to the allegation of heading or sponsoring the plot to oust Najib," it added.

The portal also called on the Umno disciplinary board to look into the allegation and take subsequent action.

"The board recently suspended an (Umno) MP (Jumat Idris) from Sabah over the claim of attempting to sabotage the chief minister (Musa Aman) who is also the state Umno chief.

"This is just a state chief, what more the allegation to topple the president of Umno," it said.

While noting that some of those implicated in the alleged plot have refuted the claim, MYKMU.net said the denials have no meaning.

"Such denials are common, who would admit to defecating by the roadside. What is important is that there would be no smoke without fire," added the portal.

Yesterday, MYKMU.net claimed that during a meeting on Wednesday night, Umno Youth deputy chief Khairul Azwan Harun ( right ) "attempted to influence" Johor Umno Youth division leaders to go against Najib.

The meeting was also attended by Umno Youth exco members Armand Azha Abu Hanifah, Syamsul Baharin Putra Ahmad Shibi, Sheikh Ahmad Nafiq Sheik A Rahman and Mohamed Shafri Abd Aziz.

Khairul was alleged to have said he did not trust Najib's explanation to Umno Youth divisional leaders last week and believed that the latter was "buying time" for the auditor-general to complete a probe on the 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB).

The portal also claimed that Khairul said Khairy was most qualified to lead the revolt against Najib.

Armand ( centre in photo ), however, accused MYKMU.net of manipulating the facts of the meeting to boost the portal's ratings.

"During the meeting, no one said Najib must step down, as claimed by the article," he said.

However, Armand admitted there were some disagreements between those at the meeting on how the 1MDB controversy should be handled by the government.

He added that MYKMU.net was not present at the meeting and could have been misled by others.

Another Umno Youth exco member Ibdillah Ishak said they had already cleared the allegations through social media.

"Within one hour of that appearing on an unscrupulous blog, we came out strongly on social media and said no, this did not happen," he added.

Johor Umno Youth chief Hahasrin Hashim also denied that the meeting was held to plot Najib’s ouster and described it as a "wild allegation".

He claimed the meeting focused on "national issues" and how to

"rebut the opposition" on various matters.

Meanwhile, Umno legal adviser Mohd Hafarizam Harun ( left ) told Malaysiakini that it was speculative and premature to comment on this issue at the current stage.

"In any event, Umno has its procedures and processes to deal with party discipline.

"Any Umno member can exercise their right accordingly.

"On exercising their right, disciplinary board would then have its work cut out depending on the complaints," he said.
