When Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak's brother posted an image of Michael Jackson with the title of his song, 'You are not alone' on his Instagram account, it got tongues wagging.

However, Nazir clarified that there was no hidden political message behind this and the posting was meant to be light hearted.

"I'm actually astonished that my Instagram posting got me the coverage really, it was not a statement or anything like that.

"Just merely a picture of Michael Jackson, just a light-hearted observation about recent comments in Malaysian politics," he told reporters at the sidelines of Invest Malaysia 2015 today.

Responding to another question, the corporate figure reiterated that there was no meaning to the post.

"I noticed some people were using that term, I thought it was light-hearted to point out that it sounded like a MJ track.

"I was kind of astonished to discover that it's newsworthy," he said.

The posting came amid Dr Mahathir Mohamad claiming that he was alone in his quest to seek answers from Najib.

Following this, celebrities like Siti Nurhaliza ( left in photo ) expressed support for the former premier.

Then, Deputy Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin said that Mahathir is not alone in speaking the truth.

In his keynote address at InvestMalaysia, Najib, who has come under tremendous criticism from Mahathir, also raised the issue.

"There has been some talk lately in Malaysia about how it can be lonely in telling the truth.

"Well, I can tell you that I don't feel lonely standing here today," he quipped.

Speculation around Nazir's posting was fueled by reports claiming there was a rift between Najib and his siblings .

The siblings had also issued a statement after the Prime Minister's Officer claimed that Najib and his family's lavish expenditure was due to inheritance.

The brothers said their father, the late Abdul Razak Hussein, was a frugal man and talk of his wealth could taint his reputation .
