British American Tobacco Malaysia (BAT) has announced that prices of all its cigarette brands will be revised back to their last pricing before April 1, effective today.

The tobacco company had earlier increased prices of all of its cigarette brands by 50 sen in line with the implementation of the goods and services tax (GST).

However, given the current market situation and to remain competitive, BAT has decided to revert to pre-GST prices, managing director Stefano Clini said in a statement today.

Following the decision, its well-established international brands like Dunhill will retail for RM13.50, Benson & Hedges (RM13.50), Pall Mall (RM12.00), Kent (RM13.50), Peter Stuyvesant (RM12.00), and Lucky Strike Plain (RM14.00).

Its shares last traded 40 sen lower to end the day at RM67.88.
