A pro-Umno website has launched a scathing attack on Dr Mahathir Mohamad, telling him not get too emotional at his age.

It also told him to ask Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak to appoint him as auditor-general and head of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC).

“Why so emotional? It’s not good to be so emotional when you are almost 90, it is not good for your health,” read the article on MyKmu.net.

The article was responding to Mahathir, who said Najib had asked people to support him instead of answering the “simple questions” the former premier had posed.

The writer, who was not named, noted that Najib, similar to Mahathir, had never asked anyone to back him.

“The support given to Najib is genuine based on facts and rationality. I (the writer) was never asked to support him.

“Does Mahathir have proof to show that Najib had asked for support?”

The article also advised Mahathir to refrain from such attacks in order not to tarnish his reputation.

As for the questions concerning 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB), the article said the matter is being investigated by the auditor-general and PAC, which comprises opposition lawmakers as well.

“So be patient. Wait for the outcome of the probe. If Mahathir is still suspicious, he can ask Najib to appoint him as auditor-general and head of PAC. I am sure there is a big chance this request would be granted.

“Once the report (on the probe) is out, Mahathir can ask for a copy and study it in detail. If he is still not satisfied, then he can boil the copy in water and drink it.

“Although the writer cautions him that doing so could be dangerous to his health.”

The article, which also featured a photograph of Mahathir sharing a light moment with Anwar Ibrahim ( left in photo ), also reminded the former premier not to be “childish” in telling Najib’s supporters to be friends with business tycoon Jho Low, who is implicated in the 1MDB saga.

“The writer was once a supporter of Mahathir, but was never friends with (tycoons) T Ananda Krishnan, Eric Chia, Robert Kuok and so forth.

“The writer would have been a millionaire now if he had befriended them.”
