All eyes will be on Dr Mahathir Mohamad as the former premier makes his first public appearance tomorrow after dropping a bombshell on Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak.

Mahathir is set to attend a special session with students in Cyberjaya to discuss the issue of leadership where the Umno veteran might unleash further salvos against Najib.

The event tomorrow is organised by "What Youth Should Know (WYSK)" which is chaired by Lawrence Low Kah Guan, who is also Selangor MCA Youth education bureau chief.

The MCA-linked WYSK global leadership series featuring Mahathir is to make up for the former premier's absence at its conference last Saturday, the same day as Najib's daughter’s wedding.

The organiser revealed that Mahathir was away in Japan but promised to attend tomorrow's talk as a replacement.

The event tomorrow could put MCA in an awkward position after its Youth chief Chong Sin Woon today said Mahathir had gone "overboard" with his attacks against Najib and demanded the former prime minister to show proof.

Chong was present at the WYSK conference last week but it is unclear if he would attend the function tomorrow.

The topic tomorrow is titled: "Vision 2020: Mistakes Made, Lessons Learnt and Ways to Move Forward".

Yesterday, Mahathir in a blog posting took aim at the prime minister , stating that he had failed to address several accusations including the murder of Mongolian national Altantuya Shaariibuu.

Mahathir had zoomed in on the fact that one of Altantuya's convicted murderer Sirul Azhar Umar, who was Najib's bodyguard, had escaped to Australia and claimed he was instructed to carry out the killing.

"The rakyat is asking who gave the instruction. As Najib's bodyguard, Sirul's allegation should be investigated to determine who gave him the instruction.

"Apart from Najib dismissing the claims as 'rubbish', there was no investigation.

"This is a human life. It would be very cruel for Sirul to die for just following orders," he had said.

Mahathir had also listed a laundry list of allegations which he said Najib had not addressed, including 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) and the purchase of a luxury private jet.
