Some PAS leaders have deemed DAP’s decision to terminate cooperation with PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang as a move to push for their own man.

“We regard that statement as DAP have an agenda to champion (PAS) party leaders to become president of PAS,” the party’s Federal Territories commissioner Mohamad Noor Mohamad told a press conference in Gombak today.

This comes after DAP insisted on cutting ties with Hadi, while maintaining ties with PAS.

When pressed if deputy president Mohamad Sabu (better known as Mat Sabu), who has a close relationship with DAP, is the person he is referring to, Mohamad Noor, however, declined to elaborate.

“We are not able to read whom DAP is supporting.

“If we look at it as a whole, all leaders like Mat Sabu, Salahuddin Ayub, Husam Musa support (Hadi Awang), and they regard DAP’s statement as not benefitting PAS,” he said.

He thus declared that FT PAS will fully support Hadi Awang ( left ) to continue his leadership and will not let other candidates challenge him in the coming PAS muktamar.

He also described the statement which was issued by DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng, as “rude” (biadap), “does not make sense” (tidak erti bahasa) and “mentally unsound” (kurang siuman).

“We are ready to suspend the relationship with DAP at the Labuan and other Federal Territories levels if they issue this kind of statement again,” he threatened.

DAP is being arrogant as they won many seats in the last general election, he added, but without PAS’ support, they will not get the same result again.

Touching on DAP supremo Lim Kit Siang’s proposal on forming a new coalition, deputy FT chief Kamaruzaman Mohamad said Pakatan Rakyat should now review their relationships.

“Other parties should review if Pakatan is still relevant. Should our cooperation be continued or otherwise?”
