DAP has revealed the confidential Feb 8 Pakatan Rakyat presidential council meeting minutes to show that PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang had reneged on his promise.

During the meeting, Hadi had agreed to the common decision by all Pakatan parties that PAS would table any private member's bill to Pakatan first before going to Parliament.

The meeting was chaired by opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim, two days before the Federal Court upheld the latter’s sodomy conviction and five-year jail sentence.

After revealing the minutes to reporters at the Parliament lobby, DAP organising secretary Anthony Loke ( left ) said: "We thought Hadi, as a respected leader, would keep his word, but it is obvious from his actions that he did not.”

Loke said Hadi sent in the hudud bill on March 18 and the move came as a "complete shock" to DAP, PKR and also some PAS leaders.

"Hadi had acted unilaterally, and we now question if he is still committed to the Pakatan cause," he added.

He said that Hadi’s actions were also in “complete disregard” to the Pakatan presidential council meeting decisions.

30 Pakatan leaders - 10 from PKR, 11 from PAS, and nine from DAP, attended the meeting, which took place at the PAS headquarters.

Kelantan Deputy Menteri Besar Nik Amar Abdullah was also in attendance during the meeting.
