Former PAS Kuala Kedah chief Phahrolrazi Zawawi has traded in his position in order to continue to be active in the NGO Pertubuhan Ummah Sejahtera Malaysia (PasMa).

According to Utusan Malaysia , the PasMa president said he honoured his party's directive that forbade party leaders from involvement in the NGO.

"I respect the directive. If not, I would look as if I do not follow party orders," he was quoted saying today.

Phahrolrazi however maintains he is still a PAS member.

Kedah PAS deputy commissioner Amiruddin Hamzah won the division's chairmanship at their AGM last night uncontested after Phahrolrazi decided not to run.

At the division AGM yesterday delegates made a stand that Abdul Hadi Awang be returned as party president at PAS' polls in June, according to Bernama.

The division nominated Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man for deputy president and Salahudin Ayub, Mahfuz Omar and Idris Ahmad for the three vice president posts.

Hadi leaves Pakatan ties to Allah

PAS had earlier said PasMa members were welcome to participate in the party polls.

The NGO was formed by the former Kedah PAS deputy head Phahrolrazi at the height of the Selangor menteri besar crisis last year, and had stated its unequivocal support for Pakatan Rakyat.

The group has been seen to be ideologically opposed to party president Abdul Hadi Awang, who has been evasive about his allegiance to the opposition coalition.

When asked today if PAS will remain in Pakatan, Hadi answered, "That only Allah knows. I don't even know when I will die."

He was asked during an event in Marang yesterday, according to PAS organ Harakahdaily today.
