Gua Musang Member of Parliament Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah today declared his support for the Syariah Criminal Code II 1993 (Amendment 2015) Bill which is better known as the hudud law, passed by the State Assembly (DUN) today.

Tengku Razaleigh described the amendment as good and hoped it would be implemented according to true Islamic teachings.

   

"The Kelantan state government has wanted this for a long time, and it was only yesterday that the amendments were tabled...that is good.

"What is only left is the implementation according to Allah's law," he told reporters after officiating the Annual Meeting of the Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Tengku Indera Petra 2 in Gua Musang today.

He was commenting on the tabling of the Syariah Criminal Code II 1993

(Amendment 2015) Bill by Kelantan Menteri Besar, Datuk Ahmad Yakob at the Kelantan State Assembly sitting yesterday.

   

The Kelantan DUN today unanimously passed the bill after getting the support of all 44 state assemblymen. When implemented, the law would only be applicable to Muslims.
