More than one year after it re-elected its new central executive committee (CEC), DAP is apparently still under a probe by the Registrar of Societies (ROS) who has refused to ratify the party's new leadership line-up.

In a written answer in Parliament today, the home ministry said the ROS was still receiving "new complaints" about DAP's re-election exercise done in September 2013.

The government said so in response to a question from Anthony Loke (DAP-Seremban) [left] who asked about the ROS' refusal to ratify the re-elected DAP CEC.

"We are still investigating DAP as we are still receiving new complaints about the re-election," the home ministry said.

DAP in April 2014 filed a judicial review against the ROS over the latter's letter seeking further explanations from DAP despite the re-election being concluded.

The party, however, withdrew the suit in September 2014, one year after the re-election was completed.

DAP re-elected its CEC after threats by ROS to de-register the party following a tabulation error during the previous party election.
