Motion on Anwar's bid to attend sitting rejected

PARLIAMENT Speaker Pandikar Amin Mulia has rejected an emergency motion from a PAS lawmaker to debate Anwar Ibrahim's bid to attend the current Parliament session as he is still the opposition leader.
Pandikar said the motion, filed by Hanipa Maidin (PAS-Sepang) under Standing Order 18 (1) and 18 (2), was not urgent and thus need not be debated.

Pandikar said the motion, filed by Hanipa Maidin (PAS-Sepang) under Standing Order 18 (1) and 18 (2), was not urgent and thus need not be debated.
Hanipa filed his motion last Thursday.
Despite the rejection, Hanipa said that he would lodge an appeal against the decision of the speaker (right).
"Parliament should be protecting its MPs. I will lodge an appeal," Hanipa said.
Earlier today, the Health Ministry did not answer a question on the state of Anwar's health in prison, resulting in PKR's Sungai Petani MP Johari Abdul saying that the silence is "suspicious".
"We feel something is amiss. Why are they not answering the question?" Johari said.
Petaling Jaya Selatan MP Hee Loy Sian of PKR asked the question, as a supplementary question during Question Time, raising concerns that Anwar's health has deteriorated in prison.
