The mufti of Perlis, Mohd Asri Zainal Abidin, even Prophet Muhammad prohibited those waiting for the prayer time to read the Quran loudly, what more if the cassette was used which could be heard by people further away.
He disclosed this during a question-and-answer session at the Behor Empiang Mosque in Kangar last night.
He said Prophet Muhammad prohibited Muslims from reading the Quran in a shrill voice in the mosque as this could disturb the attention of others in the mosque.
