A post-flood supplies storage centre belonging to the Kelantan National Security Council (MKN) was destroyed in a fire in Jalan Padang Tembak, Pengkalan Chepa on Sunday.

More than 300 tonnes of rice, tents and various other necessities, which were to be distributed to about 87,000 flood victims in the state, were destroyed.
Kelantan Fire and Rescue Department assistant director (operations), senior superintendent II Husin Abdul Rahman said they received a distress call at 2.15pm and arrived at the location eight minutes later.
“We managed to put out the fire in 30 minutes,” he told reporters when met at the scene.
He said eight fire-engines and 60 fire-fighters were rushed to the scene.
