Piah Ahmad will be flying to Australia tonight, to meet her son and wanted fugitive Sirul Azhar Umar.

The 74-year-old will be accompanied by one of her children, PAS Pokok Sena MP Mahfuz Omar and a lawyer on board an 11pm flight from KLIA.

A press conference is scheduled at the airport at 9pm.

Sirul was convicted for the high profile murder of Mongolian national Altantuya Shaariibuu on January 13 and is fleeing death row in Australia.

The former police commando was nabbed by Australian immigration officials and is held in a detention centre in Sydney.

He later told Malaysiakini that he is mulling to reveal all regarding the Altantuya murder with Australian media, who have contacted him for an interview.

He claimed he acted under orders.

Australian no longer has the death penalty and has laws forbidding the extradition of people facing the death penalty.
