Klang PAS wants an investigation to be conducted and those implicated suspended with regard to a memorandum claiming there is a move to oust party president Abdul Hadi Awang.

Those named in the memorandum, which also accused certain leaders of abusing their powers, were deputy president Mohamad Sabu, vice- president Husam Musa, election director Dr Hatta Ramli, Muslimat information chief Aiman Athirah and PasMa chief Phahrolrazi Zawawi (left).
 
The memorandum was submitted by Kuantan PAS Youth chief Noorzazilafadli Ibrahim on Feb 8.

Speaking to reporters outside the PAS headquarters today, Klang PAS secretary Mohd Prasad Hanif said an investigation must be carried out.

"For the sake of our party's integrity, we want an investigation to be conducted on both the complainant and the people named in the memorandum," he added.

In addition to that, Mohd Prasad (right) also requested the PAS secretary-general's office to suspend those named in the memorandum pending the completion of the probe.

"Usually, we will suspend those involved until an investigation is over and (Klang PAS) collectively agrees that it should be the way (in this case as well)," he added.

Klang PAS chairperson Ahmad Nazri, who was also present, took a jibe at Umno, saying that unlike its arch rival, PAS does not sweep its problems under the carpet and keep members guessing.

"We don't want that culture in our party. We would prefer for the accused to have their names cleared if not guilty, but by using the right way.

"We don't want to keep our members in the dark and we want this to be done fairly," he said.
