Mercedes-Benz Malaysia is recalling  certain E-Class and CLS-Class vehicles after its product monitoring unit, Daimler AG, discovered an issue with the rubber seal of the engine compartment in these models.

“Only a limited batch of E-Class (Model Series 212) and CLS-Class (Model Series 218) are affected.

“Our authorised dealers will begin informing affected customers in the middle of March. The rectification work is expected to take less than an hour,” it said in a statement today.

President and chief executive officer Roland Folger said Mercedes-Benz Malaysia adhered to the highest standards of safety and would attend to all affected vehicles promptly.
