IGP training his Twitter eye on DAP's Nga

DAP parliamentarian Nga Kor Ming is the IGP's newest Twitter 'victim', following a post criticising the Anwar Ibrahim conviction on Feb 10 on his Twitter account.
The police chief's active patrol on Twitter has attracted a lot of flak from home and abroad but it hasn't dampened his zeal online.
The latest to catch the Inspector-general of Police (IGP) Khalid Abu Bakar's keen eye on social media are critics of Opposition Leader Anwar Ibrahim's conviction.
DAP parliamentarian Nga Kor Ming is the IGP's newest Twitter 'victim', following this post on Feb 10 on his Twitter account:
Immediately after, the IGP tweeted that Nga "deliberately invite actions (to be taken against him)" and he will be probed under Sedition Act.
On the eve of Chinese New Year, at a time when families are busy preparing their reunion dinner, the Taiping MP received a call from Bukit Aman and was asked to give his statement.
Nga requested for a written notice and said he will come only after making arrangements for a lawyer to be present.
In a statement released today, Nga criticised the Barisan National government for being insensitive to the Chinese cultural practice of family gathering at the reunion dinner.
"(BN government) through the police called me for a statement under Sedition Act. This is causing people to be extremely fed up," he said in the statement.
'What about Ismail Sabri?'
Nga said he is willing to fully coorperate with the police but insisted his tweet had not violated any laws.
The DAP Perak chief said as an MP, he has no reason to hide from the police.
He urged them to take his statement after the Chinese New Year holidays.
The police, said Nga (left), were lenient in allowing the Agriculture and Agro-Based Industry Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob to postpone giving his statement on asking Malays to boycott Chinese traders, for a week, because of the BN leader's busy schedule.
"Why is the police purposely making things difficult for me?" he quizzed.
Other than Nga, Parti Sosialis Malaysia (PSM) secretary-general S Arutchelvam is also under investigation for a statement he made criticising Anwar's conviction.
The PSM leader was arrested yesterday and is expected to be released late this evening after the police's remand order was rejected.
