SimeDarby needs to keep residents and property/house owners in Subang Jaya/USJ posted yearly/periodically, regarding the ongoing status and position of the piece of land taken on loan by the then-Subang Jaya Medical Centre, now renamed the Ramsay SimeDarby Medical Centre to put up a temporary car park as theirs was removed to use, to build a new wing with basement parking for the hospital.

For instance, when will they return the land together with the open car park back into the fold of Subang Ria Park. Exactly, it is a part and parcel of the park proper of which the latter was ‘given’ by the Selangor government to the developer for use as a Public Recreation Park and Garden on a 99-year lease.

So, at the end of the day, this land and garden will be returned to the Selangor government when the lease expires.

And, by the way, this piece of land where the temporary open car park was put in place is actually loaned to the then-Subang Jaya Medical Centre and not to the Ramsay SimeDarby Medical Centre - let alone from effect of the merger in 2013.

However, should they (Ramsay SimeDarby Medical Centre) wish to continue to use it, then rent it. With the revenues collected by SimeDarby group, the money can be channelled to equip and maintain the Subang Ria Park; to begin with, to provide lightings, benches and one or two toilets and also to pay someone to upkeep the cleanliness. Of course they can use the extra money to tar the gravel car park in the garden.

Otherwise return it!

Now the residents and property owners would like to know has this piece of land automatically become a permanent asset of the medical centre? If so, how come there is no public notice for the transfer? Actually,  according to Local Agenda 21, a meeting with the residents and property owners should be be called to hear what they have to say prior to making a change of ownership.

Well, now anybody can see the new wing a short distance away from the main road to the SS12 shophouses.

Yes, the whole building is already 100 percent completed and can start operation any time. In fact, there is a cattle mark or rather branding on the facade right on top  the building. It is a logo of sort, and it says MedPlex.

Apparently, the basement parking is already in operation because cars are seen being driven inside and out from the basement parking.

On further inspection, there is a small sign mounted on a post standing next to the entrance into the open car park to tell motorists that the place is for season parking and for staff parking.

This temporary open car park is located at the perimeter of the Subang Ria Park on borrowed land. Maybe, there is a charge for season parking of which payments are made directly to the medical centre.

More parking lots for Subang Ria Park visitors

For your information, the parking space in Subang Ria Park proper are often packed and that visitors have to double park or leave the cars on roadsides that lead into the Crocodile Farm restaurant. So, by taking back the land loaned to the previous Subang Jaya Medical Centre, it will provide more parking lots and prevent visitors from possibly being waylaid by robbers or snatch thieves when walking to the park.

The Subang Ria Park is serene and beautiful. Anybody who goes there even for just a few minutes especially in the mornings will feel refreshed. And the scenario and greeneries are something not to be given a miss.

Yes, the residents and property owners in Subang Jaya and USJ want an answer from SimeDarby Group and the Subang Jaya Municipal Council (MPSJ) or from the Land Office regarding the current state of affairs and status of the temporary open car park which stands on borrowed land that is a part and parcel of the Subang Ria Park proper and that the Selangor government will take back ownership from SimeDarby Group when the lease expires.
