Vindicated – this is how Mohd Saiful Bukhari Azlan feels after the Federal Court found opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim II guilty of sodomy.

Saiful, 30, also expressed relief that the court found him a credible witness, seven years after he first made the police report in 2008 accusing his ex-boss of sodomising him.

"Thanks to prayers and patience for the past seven years, the Federal Court unanimously decided that whatever I had claimed is the truth and that I am a credible witness.

"From the beginning, when I lodged a police report over the case until now, what I want as a citizen of this country is my complaint against him to be investigated and judged, nothing more than that.

"As a servant of Allah who is not perfect, I have done my responsibility to uphold the truth so that I will not be questioned in the hereafter," he said in a blog posting.

In a previous Feb 8 posting, Saiful said everyone is occupied with the impact of the case on national politics and not justice for him as a sexual assault victim.

Time to move on

In his posting today, Saiful said that what that is important now is that his family would be able to "move forward".

"I pray that Allah continues to give me protection, sustenance and ease in all my affairs.

"Thank you to all who have been with me directly or indirectly, only Allah can repay it," he said.

There were around 200 supporters of Saiful today, armed with banners and chanting slogans demanding for Anwar's incarceration.

Their leader, who identified himself as Suhaimi Adnan, or Suhaimi Taliban, said that his group arrived late because they were volunteers and were not paid.

"They (Anwar supporters) appeared as early as 7am because they were paid and came in busses.

"We are volunteers. Not paid!" he told reporters.
 
However, one of Saiful's so-called supporters claimed that he was paid "duit minyak" (petrol money) to come to court.

Identifying himself only as Syafiq, he told Malaysiakini that he and his friends rode to the Palace of Justice from Puchong on motorcycles.

"I just followed the rest," he said.
