Nik Aziz expected to be discharged soon
PAS spiritual leader and Kelantan Menteri Besar Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat is expected to be discharged from the National Heart Institute (IJN) in Kuala Lumpur soon.
The veteran PAS leader, who is recovering from a heart attack, had undergone a major surgery on Saturday. However, he is expected to be discharged soon.
PAS spiritual leader and Kelantan Menteri Besar Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat is expected to be discharged from the National Heart Institute (IJN) in Kuala Lumpur soon.
Quoting an IJN spokesperson, Bernama today said that the 73-year-old politician would be allowed to go home as his condition improved.
"He's stable and improving, most probably he will be discharged in three days," said the spokesperson.
Device implanted
Nik Aziz underwent a surgery last Saturday to install an implantable cardiac defibrillator (ICD), which detects abnormalities of the heart.
The surgery was performed by a four-member team headed by IJN consultant cardiologist Dr Rosli Mohd Ali.
On July 29, the PAS leader had underwent his second coronary angioplasty at the IJN. His first angioplasty was carried out at the Hospital Universiti Sains Malaysia in Kelantan.
The veteran politician, popularly known as Tok Guru, had suffered a heart attack on July 22.
