Although the Pakatan Rakyat leadership council meeting yesterday had its focus on PAS chief Abdul Hadi Awang, PAS central committee member Dr Mohd Hatta Ramli had also hogged the spotlight, following allegations that the latter is the mastermind behind a movement to oust the party president.

However, Hatta - when contacted by Sinar Harian - refused to comment on the allegations made by fellow PAS members, including Kuantan PAS Youth chief Noorzazilafadli Ibrahim who led the accusations.

“There is no comment that I could give,” Hatta - who is also a former PAS treasurer - said.

Meanwhile, PAS deputy president Mohamad Sabu and vice-president Husam Musa (left), have also kept their silence over the matter.

Mohamad - or better known as Mat Sabu - curtly replied “no comment”, while Husam was seen avoiding any interview with reporters.

Besides Hatta, other names bandied around by Noorzazilafadli included Mat Sabu, Husam, PAS women's wing central committee member Aiman Athirah Aljundi and Persatuan Ummah Sejahtera Malaysia (PasMa) president Phahrolrazi Zawawi.

'Allegation not new'

Phahrolrazi was also reported in Sinar Harian as having denied that PasMa is responsible for the movement to topple Hadi.

“This allegation is not new, but it has been said many times before that PasMa intends to topple Hadi. PasMa has already explained that we are not involved in any such movement (to topple) as alleged,” he said.

Phahrolrazi (right) - who is also a former Kedah exco member - added that this is an internal problem within PAS, and if it is considered serious then the party central committee should investigate it.

“The PAS central committee can investigate internally if there is a complaint. It is up to them to investigate and take action, if indeed there is a conspiracy or attempt to disrupt the party,” he noted.

Phahrolrazi further denied allegations that some other senior party leaders have been backing PasMa.
