I refer to your editorial 'It's family first for Umno Sdn Bhd'.

I think it is no big deal who becomes the prime minister of this country as no matter who assumes the post, it will be 'business is as usual' no matter what for this family concern.

Abdullah Ahamd Badawi promised much and was given a big majority for BN at the March polls. But after that his promises seem to have been 'written off'.

If Umno members are so silly as to just agree to any candidate rather than make sure their divisions vote properly, then they will deserve the leaders they get. They say if you give peanuts, you get monkeys, but what else can you give monkeys if not peanuts?

If Khairy Jamaluddin gets a free ride to the top, so be it as I am sure he can at least speak better then some of the people we have as ministers now.

And if Umno members think that Khairy is God's gift to them, so be it. But I doubt if he will have any such free rides later on when Abdullah retires

I am not supporting Khairy. All I'm saying that if it were not for him rising so fast, it would be someone else. I am sure Khairy has planned this from day one which shows that he had a plan and was forward thinking - better than some of the others if you ask me.

If Anwar Ibrahim's case is anything to go by, it appears that the only safe position in Malaysia is that of the Umno president (and yes, the MIC president's too).

It is very rotten at the top - MIC, MCA and Umno - so it is immaterial who leads the country.

Does anyone think that if Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah had won the Umno presidency and became the prime minister, he would have made Malaysia a better place?
