Sacked pilot gets his salary for January

Dismissed Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) pilot Major Zaidi Ahmad received his salary for the month of January this morning.
This comes just a day after Malaysiakini ran a report about his salary being deposited and then being taken out on the same day, on Jan 22.
This follows a report that his pay was banked in and pulled out on Jan 22.
Dismissed Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) pilot Major Zaidi Ahmad received his salary for the month of January this morning.
This comes just a day after Malaysiakini ran a report about his salary being deposited and then being taken out on the same day, on Jan 22.
Zaidi said he received a message from the RMAF paymaster in Butterworth informing him about the fresh deposit, after admitting to an "error" in the previous transaction.
The paymaster reportedly fowarded a message from the Armed Forces Salary Unit in Kuala Lumpur, stating there was an error with the earlier salary deposit.
"About 10am, I received a call from the RMAF Butterworth airbase administrative officer who told me that he was ordered to tell me my salary is being re-deposited," Zaidi said.
Salary already in at noon
He said a check on his bank account showed that his salary was already in at noon.
"Thanks to all those who helped and prayed for me until my problem was resolved," he said.
Zaidi, a former fighter jet pilot, realised yesterday that his salary was deposited and then removed from his bank account on the same day, Jan 22.
This was despite there having been no official dismissal letter issued to him.
He was dismissed from RMAF on Jan 12, after being found guilty of making media statements about the indelible ink during the 13th general election, without the permission of the Armed Forces Council.
