Former Royal Malaysia Air Force (RMAF) pilot Zaidi Ahmad's former subordinate had been demoted from his position a week after Zaidi was discharged by a military tribunal.

Flight Sergeant Jamal Ibrahim, 46, was demoted to the position of air sergeant on Jan 20, a week after Zaidi was found guilty of speaking to the media on flaws in the indelible ink system adopted during the 13th general election.

Jamal was deemed to have given a media statement along with Zaidi, without the permission of the Armed Forces Council.

"He was handed the punishment on Jan 20," said Zaidi (right), who met Jamal a few days ago.

It is understood that Jamal's punishment was much lighter than Zaidi's, because the former had agreed to become the prosecution's witness to testify against Zaidi in the military court.

Yesterday, Zaidi claimed that his salary for the month of January was deposited and then taken out on the same day, on Jan 22.

This was despite the fact that he has yet to receive his official dismissal letter from the military court - which discharged him of his duties earlier this month.

Zaidi added that he would need to find another job to fend for his family.
