Columnist Mariam Mokhtar has been targeted by right-wing groups over an article on the government's refusal to allow non-Muslims to use the word 'Allah'.
 
Self-styled social media watchdog Semut, short for Sensible Ethical Malaysian United Team, today lodged a police report against Mariam for her article titled: 'Allah ruling reveals Malay weakness'.
 
Semut chairperson Zapaparudin Abdul Rahim claimed Mariam was pitting Muslims and non-Muslims against each other.
 
He lodged a police report over the article at Dang Wangi district police headquarters this morning.
 
"Her action of often questioning the Allah issue has gone overboard and this will create antagonism between Muslims and non-Muslims," he said in a statement today.
