The number of flood evacuees in Perak and Pahang dropped slightly as at 6pm today from the figures recorded in the afternoon.

In Kelantan and Sabah, however, there have been no change in their numbers at the relief centres up to that time since afternoon.

This brings the total number of evacuees in the flood affected states to 2,808 from 2,953 this afternoon.

In PERAK, a state National Operations Council (MKN) spokesperson said the number of evacuees continued to drop to 1,493 (410 families) in the evening from 1,561 this afternoon, with 1,276 of them in Perak Tengah, 183 in Hilir Perak and  34 in Hulu Perak.

In PAHAHG, the number decreased to 369 from 446 at two relief centres in  Sekolah Kebangsaan Batu Kapor and Sekolah Kebangsaan Desa Bakti, Temerloh.

In KELANTAN, state Social Welfare Department director Nik Omar Nik Abdul Rahman said the number of evacuees remained at 908 in 15 relief centrs since morning.

“Today, 30 flood victims from five families were transferred to the National Service Training Programme (NSTP) camp in Sungai Durian, Kuala Krai and we are in the process of relocating all the flood evacuees to the nearby NSTP camps,” he said when contacted.

In SABAH, a spokesperson for the Pitas District Office, said the number of flood evacuees in the area remained at 38 since this afternoon and they were expected to return home later today.
