'PasMa has no plans to go into next GE’

Its president Pahrolrazi Zawawi stressed that "PasMa is a non-governmental organisation (NGO) and will not contest against any political party".
"We (PasMa) want to increase public support for Pakatan Rakyat (PR). We have not thought about registering as a political party as our supporters are more comfortable without a (political platform)," he told Bernama.
Pahrolrazi (right), who is also Pengkalan Kundor assemblyperson, said PaMma had no plans to field candidates in the 14th general election.
"But what happens now is that many quarters including some PAS leaders have the wrong perception of PasMa and the objectives of its establishment," said the former Kedah state executive councillor.
He said many of PasMa's supporters preferred to be active under an NGO platform which to them, was more flexible and they did not want to be tied down to tight discipline in the case of a political party.
According to him, PasMa was now active except in Negri Sembilan, Johor, Sabah and Sarawak, and it was out to attract Pakatan supporters to be its members.
"PasMa targets one million members or 25 percent of the four million opposition supporters. We want to build a PasMa organisational structure in each parliamentary constituency," said Pahrolrazi.
However, he failed to disclose PasMa's current membership, saying that its data had not been updated.
On his meeting with Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng yesterday, Pahrolrazi said they discussed various matters, including cooperation between both sides in the 14th general election.
