The ringgit opened lower against the US dollar in early trade this morning on lack of demand, dealers said.    

At 9.25am, the ringgit was quoted at 3.4940/4960 vis-a-vis the greenback compared with 3.4770/4800 at 5pm yesterday.  

The ringgit fell against the Singapore dollar to 2.6647/6671 from 2.6469/6508 yesterday and depreciated against the yen to 2.9588/9612 from 2.9182/9212. It also depreciated against the British pound to 5.4905/4957 from Wednesday's 5.4537/4598 and dipped against the Euro to 4.3532/3567 from 4.3080/3121, previously.
