Zahid: Those who flee will return like 'bangau'

Gerard Lourdesamy: Home Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, for all of your "superhuman" qualities as a Malay nationalist, your writ does not extend to the United States and Sweden. Sedition and criminal defamation are not offences in either country.

 

The reluctance of this Malay ‘warrior’ to use the US-Malaysia Extradition Treaty is because he wants to avoid Malaysia becoming the laughing stock of the civilised world when a US federal judge hears and rules on the extradition request, given the medieval nature of our sedition and criminal defamation laws in the face of the broad and liberal right to freedom of expression both countries.

 

Odysseus: In today's borderless world, the battle is fought on many fronts. One of them is via the Internet. These two men will wage their battle against BN through the Internet and there is nothing Zahid can do about it, other than making himself look childish and stupid.

I am quite perplexed as to how a person who "never graduated and failed his university exams" got to do with being a coward. So going by this rationale, all brave people will pass their exams and graduate. No?

Pputeh: I just watched a video on Channel News Asia Singapore and Alvin Tan speaking perfect English. Flawless. This man will be going places. Just you watch.

Sirach: I love the picture of Zahid stroking his chin with that look in his eyes ( as above ). Straight out of central casting. He should get into acting. He looks like Ernst Stavro Blofeld, the villain in old Bond movies.

 

You have to grant it to these Umno Baru types; showmanship is their forte, if little else.

 

Mosquitobrain: I cannot imagine Alvin and Ali Abdul Jalil, two small flies, can really annoy Zahid.

Lamps: I am liking US ambassador to Malaysia Joseph Y Yun. What a brave and intelligent man. People like ministers Khairy Jamaluddin, Nancy Shukri and former PM Dr Mahathir Mohamad can learn a lot from him.

 

NuckinFuts: BN MPs will give their usual, "You don't like it, go back to China" response to this ambassador's advice. That's the only kind of debate we are capable of.

 

Legit: Yes, just wait for the chorus of protests from Umno goons. You can't have an intelligent conversation with these idiots as they only know how to shut you down with their contorted arguments.

 

Mr Yun, with such calibre of leaders, do you seriously think Malaysia can join the ranks of developed countries anytime soon? It's only a pipe dream, sir.

 

Jaycee: Having a per capital income of US$10,000 is not something to be proud of. Corruption and looting of public funds are quite rampant and very deep-rooted.

 

The fact that the ruling party is holding on to power even though they have lost the majority vote speaks volumes.

Mr Ambassador, if these were truly practised, Malaysia will desperately need to build many more jails to house these corrupted and evil Umno people.

 

CQ Muar: I would like to add that, though a small country, Malaysia holds record for being ‘first’ in the following:

 

1) Longest-ruling political party.

 

2) World's biggest cabinet of ministers and deputies (though such a small country).

 

3) World's most corrupt leaders who went unapprehended.

 

4) Only country in the world exterminating a life with C4 and unaccounted for.

 

5) Endless financial aid to a single race for over 50 years with no apparent results in sight.

 

6) With a national airline mysteriously disappearing in thin air, followed by another major disaster within half a year.

 

7) A flip-flop prime minister whose decisions could be influenced by the alleged First Lady of Malaysia (FLOM).

 

8) A ruling government exerting great influence on police, judicial decisions, media and other related freedom... and the list goes on.

 

Sleepy: As I understand what the US ambassador is saying on human resources, diplomatically, is ‘don't chase away the people that Malaysia needs for its future’, that is don't encourage brain drain.

 

Oriole: I like the fact that they have a minority person representing Washington in Malaysia, the latter a country predicated on race and the rights of the majority.

 

It’s quite a message from Washington.
