Khairy gets his first nomination
The Cheras Umno Youth movement is the first division to nominate the prime minister's son-in-law, Khairy Jamaluddin for the post of deputy head of Umno Youth.

A unanimous decison to nominate Khairy for the post was made in the movement's meeting held in Kuala Lumpur yesterday.
Prior to that, Khairy, who is also the main sponsor of the Rembau Umno Youth division, has been said to be a good prospect to secure the post after several Umno Youth exco members who had been talking about contesting the post withdrew.
Khairy is expected to announce his acceptance of the nomination at a press conference to be held tomorrow morning in the Rembau Umno Youth office in Negeri Sembilan.
Meanwhile, the Rembau Umno Youth division meeting is scheduled to be held in the Tuanku Jaafar Golf Club in Seremban at 8 pm tonight.
Withdrawal
The post of deputy head of Umno Youth fell vacant after Abdul Aziz Sheikh Fadzir, who was holding the post, stepped down upon reaching the 40-year-old limit.
Following that, the information head of the movement, Azimi Daim had voiced his readiness to contest the post.
Aside from Azimi , who is the Bandar Baharu state assemblyperson, three other exco members of the movement also voiced their readiness to be nominated for the same post.
They are Norza Zakaria, Ikmal Hisham Abdul Aziz and Abdul Hamid Nazahar.
However, after the Perak Umno Youth stated its open support for Khairy to hold the post, all of them withdrew themselves.
Following that, Khiary is expected to have the unanimous support from all 191 Umno Youth divisions which will start meeting today.
