Fifty-one-year-old Hasan Ayuob. Mark that name. He certainly is going places. If not in the world of Malaysian politics, then surely for the Guinness Book of World Records.

And if not for these two, then surely at least for providing a Hollywood plot for a movie that might just be the best comedy of all times. Indeed I was laughing all the way through the exclusive report by Steven Gan and Nash Rahman.

From what I gather, this is one of the most creative con jobs of the century.

It would seem that an operation like this required complete knowledge of the workings of the Barisan Nasional and more importantly, access to information on BN and its partners including their operational offices and so on.

And beyond that all that, audacity and smooth-talk was also required.

The question to ask is how much of the BN campaign paraphernalia throughout the country was supplied by Hasan Ayuob and his Elegant Advisory? It would appear to me that many of the operational branches of the whole BN machinery must have relied on Hasan for their posters and campaign paraphernalia.

If that was the case, than obviously Hasan must have been in contact with all of them, telling them that they could get all their needs through his office. That would have put a stop to any need for them making their own purchases.

Another question to ask is if Hasan had any authority and could show proof that he indeed had powers to act on behalf of BN.

If that authority cannot be established then what he was dealing with was really, in fact, stolen property. And therefore, this would mean that all BN candidates had benefitted from the use of stolen property.

It would seem to me, by stretching my imagination a bit, that we may just have a stolen election! Nah ... that would be going too far. But what if we do have a case of every BN MP, including the prime minister, having benefitted from stolen property?

Are the suppliers going to be paid? If so by whom? Was Elegant Advisory only acting as an agent? Then for whom?

From the prime minister's advice that they should refer to who ever provided their Purchase Orders it would seem that the prime minister is not in touch with the workings of the BN.

Obviously Hasan's operations were relied upon by the BN to provide their poster war ammunition for the last general election. They cannot now absolve themselves from their liabilities nor deny that Hasan was indeed their agent.

For the moment, however, good showing Hasan! As for the suppliers down on their luck, well, that's what you get for your greed.
