What has wearing a songkok and a tudung got to do with participating in the student parliament programme?

 

This would clearly entail only Muslim students with an indirect indication that non-Malays are not welcome. So now do we know why our national schools are being shunned by the non-Malays?

 

It is as clear as daylight. If a free media doesn't highlight issues like this, it will all go unnoticed and unreported and incidents like this will continue unabated.

 

David Dass: It is good that these incidents are highlighted. Why do they occur at all? And why do these students accept the treatment without protest?

 

It is not Malaysian culture to force Christians to pray under a tree. There should be a nationwide exercise to promote the Malaysian culture the minister speaks about.

 

By all means, report the good things. But also report these deviations from Malaysian culture. Otherwise the deviant culture will spread and will become the national culture.

 

Mushiro: Let the truth be highlighted and people can decide whether these are isolated cases or otherwise.

 

The mainstream media too has highlighted negative news and even falsehoods about the Pakatan Rakyat government and their leaders with the open knowledge of the BN government.

 

If truths are hidden, then no corrective actions will be taken. Even with the truths clearly exposed and culprits clearly shown, excuses and denials seem to be the easy way out.

Anonymous #97893788: What do you do to the principal of the college or school? The person in charge who caused this should be demoted three grades. There can be no tolerance to teachers that cause these incidents to happen.

 

Headhunter: Just give the college director the sack and it will guarantee that these incidents will not be repeated in any of the colleges in the country again. Nip it in the bud before the disease spreads.

 

The Education Ministry should not treat such incidents with just a slap on the wrist because it brings the ministry into disrepute.

Come on, Idris, have the grace and guts to speak the whole truth not just the parts that please your listeners.

 

Kangkung: When such things are highlighted in the press, Umno ministers are very good at acting very surprised. What is happening in the college is nothing new and incidents such as these are not isolated.

 

Gravity: And the government expects non-Malays to enrol in government schools to be humiliated and abused. Well, what action is being taken by the scumbag who enforced this uncivilised ruling?

 

The one who made the students eat in the shower room during the holy month of puasa got off scot-free. Action speaks louder than words.

So the school administrations see what you do and learn from you. Why not the government lead by example first, then others will follow.

 

Don't blame the media for publishing the news. If you want the media to publish "syok sendiri" reports, go print flyers or buy advertising space.

 

Tholu: Idris Jusoh, go tell this (to be fair and highlight issues that encourage racial harmony) to the mainstream media particularly Utusan Malaysia .

 

It is a master publication specialised in stoking racial and religious discord and hatred on a daily basis among the population.

 

Also advise Umno as well. It does this on a yearly basis at its annual general assembly.
