DAP leader Gobind Singh Deo has chided Kelantan PAS deputy commissionaer Mohd Amar Nik Abdullah for not understanding the gravity of the spat between the two parties on the issue of Abdul Hadi Awang's non-attendance at Pakatan Rakyat meetings.

"Something seems to be wrong with him (Mohd Amar). Whilst we in DAP asks Hadi to attend meetings to strengthen Pakatan, this man accuses us of trying to push PAS out of Pakatan.

"He doesn't seem to understand simple things," Gobind said in a statement today.

Gobind (right), who is the DAP legal bureau advisor, took a swipe at the Kelantan deputy menteri besar who asked for DAP to quit Pakatan, following calls from party leaders for accountability from Hadi to show up for the coalition's leadership council meetings.

He added that DAP was not trying to push PAS out but wanted the partner to show a serious commitment to strengthening the coalition.

"It is not wrong asking for Hadi to attend the meetings, if there is a decision to be made regarding the future of Pakatan."

The 'all-supreme' in Pakatan

The Puchong MP also accused Hadi of being disrespectful in behaving as the all-supreme in Pakatan by saying it was up to him to attend or not.

"Hadi has openly said he will choose when to attend Pakatan meetings or not. He has chosen to again behave as if he is the all supreme in Pakatan who will decide when and what, if at all, anything will be done," he said.

Gobind said Hadi's action is contemptuous not only of other parties in the coalition but also of all Malaysians.

"This kind of attitude is a show of total and utter disrespect not only to the component parties of Pakatan but more so to the many Malaysians who expect that leaders in Pakatan will put their hearts and minds together to build an alternative party which is capable of leading this country in place of BN," said Gobind.

The issue surfaced again last Sunday, after Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng had criticised Hadi for skipping Pakatan leadership meetings, stating that it made cooperating with PAS difficult.

Gobind said that Hadi has now made PAS into a one-man party by overruling decisions made by those under him.
