Five years on, the Teoh Beng Hock Trust for Democracy and DAP Youth (Dapsy) will hold a demonstration next week over police investigations into the political aide's demise.

This is to air frustrations that the re-investigation of Beng Hock's death in July 2009 is focusing on suicide instead of homicide, they said.

Dapsy vice-chief Tiew Way Keng told reporters today that the rally at the Parliament entrance next Wednesday is to urge the prime minister to take responsibity.

She said that Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak is urged to meet Beng Hock's family to "tell (them) what he has done as a PM of the country" on the matter.

“Najib can (now) prepare to meet Teoh’s family. Today is Sunday, so there are three days until Wednesday,” added the Teratai assemblyperson.

Najib had in 2009 promised that the government will find out what had happened to the 30-year-old, who was found dead on a ledge outside the Selangor Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commision office.

Also present at the press conference at Petaling Jaya were the deceased's sister Teoh Lee Lan, Teoh Beng Hock trustee Toh Kim Won, trust executive secretary Ng Yap Hwa and DAP Bukit Gasing assemblyperson R Rajiv.

Responding to inspector-general of police Khalid Abu Bakar's comment that “Teoh family’s is unhappy with everything”, Lee Lan said the entire country actually shared the same sentiment.

“I believe no country(in the word) or any people, could ever accept this kind of investigation. Everyone who has a clear mind in this country are extremely unhappy, not only Teoh’s family and the opposition.”

'What have the police investigated?

Instead, Lee Lan asked, “What have the police investigated?”

Moreover, she also blamed that the IGP’s investigation angle is “blurred”.

“The police said they are investigating the allegations against Teoh before his death. This is completely unestablished. Teoh was merely a witness (of the case Selangor MACC probing), the one they wanted to look into was (Teoh’s superior and Selangor exco member) Ean Yong Hian Wah.

“This cases has been (going on) for five years, he is still unclear (about the correct angle of the investigation),” she said in an upset tone.

Thus, she urged all concerned supporters take a half-day leave on Wednesday to join the protest.

“Please show us your support by action, bear in mind that Teoh Beng Hock’s case is still unsolved.”
