Sarawak Chief Minister Adenan Satem is expected to table the state budget for 2015 for the first time tomorrow since his appointment to the post in March this year.

Sarawak state legislative assembly speaker Mohamad Asfia Awang Nassar today said Adenan would table the Supply (2015) Bill 2014 in his capacity as the State Finance Minister.

Speaking to reporters after attending a pre-council meeting in Kuching, he said the first and second reading of this bill would be done tomorrow, while the final reading had been set on Nov 19.

He said the sitting would also see the Dewan Undangan Negeri (Composition of Membership) Bill 2014 to to increase the membership of the assembly to be tabled by State Housing and Tourism Minister Abang Johari Openg.

Asfia said the increase in the number of assembly members was provided for under the Sarawak constitution for every eight years’ interval.

Three other bills would also be tabled at the sitting, namely the Supplementary Supply (2014) Bill 2014, Land Custody and Development Authority (Amendment) Bill 2015 and the Land Code (Amendment) Bill 2014.

Asfia said the assembly also received a total of 330 questions from 38 members for this sitting with 57 of the questions being directed to the Chief Minister’s Office.
