A group of villagers, politicians and activists demonstrated against the demolition of Kampung Chubadak Tambahan, near Sentul in Kuala Lumpur.

They marched from the Bandar Baru Sentul mosque to the developer's office, about 1.5km away.

The protesters spray painted the developer's office with insults such as 'kapitalis bangsat' (capitalist bastard) and "pengkhianat bangsa+t" (bastard traitor).

One demonstrator was wrapped in white cloth with the word 'Chubadak' in red, while uttering the words "I want my house back".

According to the protesters, the activist shrouded in white cloth symbolised how Kampung Chubadak Tambahan is “dead and buried”.
 
Among the demonstrators were Batu MP Tian Chua, Selangor exco member Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad, PSM secretary-general S Arutchelvan, PAS Muslimat leader Aiman Athirah, former student activist Safwan Anang, Gerakan Mahasiswa Islam Malaysia (Gamis) activists, as well as the Rakyat Bela Kampung Chubadak Tambahan Movement (Bela).
 
When the participants were in front of the developer’s office, Aiman, speaking through a loud-hailer, urged the developers to come out from the office to receive a memorandum from Bela representatives.
 
Storming the gates

Apart from spray painting graffiti on the developer’s gate, some participants who tried to storm it even managed to break off one of the wood planks.
 
A representative from the developer’s office (right) came out 45 minutes later and asked participants to disperse, only to be shouted at with yells of “kau kapitalis bangsat” (you capitalist bastard).
 
The developers later allowed three participants into the office to discuss matters, and the meeting took 30 minutes.
 
Those allowed in were Kampung Chubadak Tambahan resident Ahmad Daud Mohd Ali, lawyer Ahmad Zamri Asa’ad and Gamis activist Khairul Najib.
 
Meanwhile, the presence of a police officer who was wearing a green baju melayu outfit and a white skullcap, caught the attention of participants.
 
Universiti Malaya student Abdul Muqit Muhammad who was detained at the Sentul police station two days ago when protesting the villagers’ eviction, claimed that the police officer did not permit him to perform his asar prayers under remand.
 
The demonstrators then ridiculed the police officer, who denied preventing Abdul Muqit from performing his prayers.
 
After the police officer left, lawyer Ahmad Zamri told the demonstrators that they managed to deliver the memorandum to the developer.
 
The contents of the memorandum include demanding the developers to give the necessary compensation, giving a reasonable (eviction) notice and to stop using gangsters to evict the residents.
