Ikatan Muslimin Malaysia (Isma) has called on Anwar Ibrahim to teach his supporters to be as civil as the movement's supporters.

Ismaweb editor Mohd Firdaus Salleh Hudin was responding to the opposition leader’s remark that police should be tolerant with his supporters just like how Isma and Perkasa supporters are treated.

"If Anwar wants the same treatment then he must school his supporters on being civil just like Isma supporters.

"Isma supporters do not provoke the police. They do not throw eggs or storm police barricades," he said.

Previously, Firdaus said Isma supporters had gathered outside the Kajang Sessions Court and Palace of Justice in Putrajaya but there were no untoward incidents.

He added that the supporters listened to the speeches made by leaders, chanted slogans, prayed and read the Al-Quran during the proceedings.

In defending the actions of his supporters who gathered outside the Palace of Justice, Anwar had said that they would not have behaved badly if the police had not provoked them.

The Federal Court is currently hearing the opposition leader’s appeal against his sodomy conviction.
