Bravo lawyer Uthayakumar! It was so encouraging that you vowed to continue in your struggle against police abuse in spite of the huge problems and uphill tasks besides fearing for your life.

I wish half our lawyers were like you. If only more lawyers had such guts and the courage, the citizens will be better respected by the powers in high office.

And that article by Claudia Theophilus on the suffering of a couple of families whose only sin seems to be that they do not have an identity card. What a shame in light of the fact that recent migrants can easily get a permanent resident status and ICs. Political parties should be squirming or would they?

R Nadeswaran, who writes for The Sun needs mention too. He keeps reminding us of the 'worms' in local councils. By the way, did the Petaling Jaya Municipal Council ever satisfactorily answer the matter about billboard licencing monies going to its Sports Club?

Please keep all the issues that all of you have raised alive by constantly writing and reminding - otherwise the authorities will just ignore it knowing that it will soon be forgotten by Malaysians.

If more people came forward and raised issues and kept a log of when an issue was raised, what was the progress and the final outcome, hopefully the authorities would be on their toes.

As it is, there are several matters that have been raised and have slowly died away. To mention one - the case of a former chief justice holidaying with a lawyer. Retirement should not be a reason for not pursuing action.

And what about the policy for open tenders announced by Pak Lah? Has it been implemented and if so how, and are all government departments following the order?
