Opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim said that staying put in Malaysia to face the Federal Court's decision on his appeal case is his "last sacrifice" for Malaysians.

Although admitting that he could opt for the easy way out by moving to London or Istanbul, Anwar is adamant that this was his "last final service, especially for the young".

"What will the young people say if I run away? How will the young fight, then?" he said, addressing the crowd at the Mini 3k stadium in Subang Jaya last night.

"You must state your position. And please remember to exercise your right," he reminded the nation’s youth.

Anwar's message to BN on the other hand, is that it cannot silence him.

"You cannot expect me to be silent. I think if I say DAP and PAS are nothing but troublemakers, Umno is right and (Prime Minister) Najib Abdul Razak is the best prime minister, they will revoke my case.

"And after one week, I will become a 'Tun'," he said, drawing laughter from the crowd.

Meanwhile, Anwar stressed that he will remain consistent and committed in his struggle.

"If you want to threaten or 'buy' me, sorry. I am mentally prepared so do not try to threaten me.
 
"I don't want to go to prison, but if I have to, I will go fighting against the corrupt system," he said.

Anwar also managed to slip in a comment on the recent dog-patting furore, saying how it had become a "national crisis".

"Dogs are the biggest problem plaguing the country, therefore we must attack these dogs," he said with sarcasm.

"Where are the Umno ustaz when a minister's family member has a liquor security-labelling company?" he asked.

Selangor Menteri Besar Azmin Ali, who was also present, had earlier pointed out how the de facto PKR leader had been slandered for 16 years using the "same script".

"He is facing all these for the rakyat. So together, we must rise up for Anwar," he said.

"What is Anwar's sin? He is not corrupted, he does not abuse his power. His only sin is fighting against Umno.

"So it seems fighting Umno is a sin. If it is a sin, let us all commit this sin and fight against Umno," added the PKR deputy president.
