A family living in an oil palm plantation in Jalan Paboi Tambun, Simpang Ampat in Nibong Tebal are still traumatised after they were robbed by two men who posed as policemen last Wednesday.

G George, 44, said he was asleep with his wife and son when they were awakened by loud knockings on the door at 3.30am.

He was surprised to see four men in a BMW car in front of his house.

George, an alternative medicine practitioner said, two of the men demanded him to open the door immediately and accused him of causing the death of a patient he had treated.  

“They introduced themselves as policemen and rudely entered the house. They told me not to do anything and warned they would hurt me if I put up a fight. I stood helplessly as they ransacked the house.

“They left after taking some valuables including laptops, cellphones, jewellery and RM1,000 in cash,” he told reporters at his home in Nibong Tebal today.

Earlier, George was met by Penang CID chief SAC Mazlan Kesah who visited him in conjunction with the High Profile Policing programme in Seberang Perai Selatan.

Meanwhile, Mazlan said that based on information, the four men had been arrested in a raid in Kuala Muda, Kedah last Friday.

He said in the raid, police also arrested three individuals, including a woman, alleged to be members of a gang actively involved in robbery and break-ins in Penang and Kedah.

“Initial investigation has revealed that the gang is actively involved in robbery, break-ins and vehicle thefts in the two states, and from our records the vehicle used by the four men when they robbed George’s house was a car which had been reported missing in Pulau Tikus, George Town recently,” he said.
