I am disgusted. The police force admit to being understaffed and tell us they can't do much to help us everyday people to cut down crime but now they have been allocated 1,000 men to help secure the house of VIPs, just like that!

Don't VIPs generally have the financial resources to procure the services of private security firms to help them protect themselves and their property anyway, apart from the police guardhouses in front of their huge houses?

Yes, I understand that these embassies/consulates and rich people's houses need to be secure, otherwise Malaysian's reputation in the safe, international city will be tainted but why is it when the rakyat pleads and begs every day for increased police protection, there is no response?

Why won't the government increase the budget for the police fleet of patrol cars and motorcycles?

I don't understand. It's a simple enough solution, isn't it? Yes, other measures have to be implemented but I believe that for a start, just increasing the number of patrol cars and bikes on our streets will prove to be a effective deterrent to curb some criminal activities.
