I refer to the news report Suaram, Hakam condemn police over Brickfields arrest.

While it was nice to hear that the Bar council, too, has condemned the action by the Brickfields police, it should not just talk. Show some commitment and action.

There are so many lawyers in the Bar Council. Why can't it get a few of its members to represent the arrested people and possibly initiate an action for wrongful arrest whatever the charges brought up.

This would send out a much stronger signal and at least convince the public that the council has not been just talking for too long.

It time for the Bar Council to show some action and the Brickfields case has presented both the opportunity and the challenge.
