New Selangor Menteri Besar Azmin Ali has promised to review a highway project that had become one of the controversial aspects of predecessor Abdul Khalid Ibrahim's administration.
 
He said today that he would review the Kinrara-Damansara Expressway (Kidex), and also all other highway projects involving the state government.
 
"The most important aspect of Kidex is whether all conditions are fulfilled. We will review all agreements," added Azmin (left).

Abdul Khalid's administration was flayed for its handling of the Kidex issue and there were massive objections from Petaling Jaya residents to it.

Questions were also raised about the fact that prominent Umno lawyer Hafarizam Harun was a director in a company that was awarded the highway project.

The Kidex issue was extensively used in the list of reasons for PKR to oust Abdul Khalid as MB.

Meanwhile, Azmin did not state categorically if his administration would not approve tolled highways - a promise made in the Pakatan Rakyat manifesto for the last election.

Apart from Kidex, there are five other highways which are being planned in Selangor- the Ulu Klang Expressway (Suke), Serdang Kinrara Putrajaya Expressway (Skip), Eastern Klang Valley Expressway (EKVE), Damansara-Shah Alam highway (Dash), and the West Coast Expressway (LPB).
