State executive council (exco) member Teng Chang Khim has been asked to state his stand on the Kinrara-Damansara Expressway (Kidex) project.

Petaling Jaya Section 14A residents association assistant chairman Michael Kum pointed out since Teng ( right ) is now back in the exco line-up, he should “do the right thing”.

“We will continue to monitor your actions, and ask for your kind proactive actions to stop the Kidex project as soon as possible,” said Kum in an open letter to Teng.

He said the anti-Kidex movement – Say No to Kidex – is tracking Teng’s decision-making on the issue.

“In the past, your actions have been pro-Kidex and supportive of previous menteri besar Abdul Khalid Ibrahim,” he said.

He said Teng did not listen to the sentiments of the people, even though several members of the anti-Kidex movement had published their rebuttal to show that the project will not benefit the Selangor citizens.

“You still went ahead to support Khalid’s actions, even if they were impractical and unjust,” said Kum.

Kidex is a 14.9km fully-elevated highway project estimated to cost RM2.2 billion. The proposed highway is expected to affect some of Petaling Jaya’s most densely populated areas.
