Selangor Menteri Besar Azmin Ali will discuss controversial issues which had plagued the previous administration in the state executive council’s maiden meet next Wednesday.
These include the menteri besar allowance hike, the Kinrara-Damansara Expressway (Kidex) and water agreement, he said.
"We have been advised by the party president and de facto leader to review the mentioned issues.
"We will discuss these issues on Wednesday," he said at the PKR headquarters today, after the new exco members were sworn-in at the Istana Alam Shah in Klang.
PKR de facto leader Anwar Ibrahim (right) earlier said that he had asked Azmin to give particular consideration to the allowance hike which was announced by former menteri besar Abdul Khalid Ibrahim.
"I have advised the new menteri besar to raise the matter in the next state assembly sitting. The allowance hike is simply not reasonable," Anwar said.
On Kidex, Anwar said the proposed highway will only benefit "one or two companies" who are "cronies" of the federal government.
He also said that the water industry restructuring deal between Selangor and the federal government, signed by Khalid in the last weeks of his tenure, to ensure it will not burden the people of Selangor.
He said Khalid never met with PKR strategy director Rafizi Ramli, DAP Selangor chief Tony Pua and PAS central committee member Dzulkefly Ahmad, who made up a Pakatan Rakyat special committee to advise the former menteri besar on the matter.
A cake from Kak Wan
Anwar also expressed confidence in Azmin's "capability and commitment", saying that the newly-minted menteri besar will perform well.
"But he needs the strong support of his exco members as well as the state machinery," said Anwar, who has been Azmin's boss since 1987 when the latter was appointed as a special officer.
Azmin was appointed as MB after months of bickering, with Wan Azizah withdrawing her candidacy for the post.
Wan Azizah was her party's sole candidate, but palace sources reportedly said the sultan was not keen on her candidacy out of concerns that she will be "remote-controlled" by Anwar.
Meanwhile, Wan Azizah feted the new MB and the four exco members from PKR with a cake.
"A gift of a cake from Kak Wan especially for the MB and the Selangor exco members from PKR," she tweeted.
