Selangor PAS is adamant to defend its four state executive council (exco) seats and sees calls for its quota to be reduced as unreasonable.

PAS Selangor commissioner Iskandar Ab Samad said that the number of PAS representatives on the exco should remain as PAS has 15 seats in the state legislative assembly.

"We are defending (the four exco posts). That is clear.

"We have made the decision (on who will be on the exco from PAS) and have submitted it to the central leadership for endorsement," he said when met after a Selangor PAS meeting tonight.

Selangor PKR deputy chief Zuraida Kamaruddin (above) earlier today called for the review of composition of exco members, claiming that PAS did not support PKR and DAP’s nominations for menteri besar (MB).

DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng also labelled the four PAS exco members "traitors" for not resigning when then MB Abdul Khalid Ibrahim sacked exco members from DAP and PKR.

Iskandar was among the four who remained on the exco until Khalid’s last day on Monday.

No discussion with Azmin

Meanwhile, the Cempaka assemblyperson declined to say if Selangor PAS had proposed that the four who had served in Khalid’s administration, to return to the exco.

"We must leave that to the central leadership. I cannot reveal the list now," he said.

He added that there has not been any discussion between Selangor PAS and newly-minted MB Azmin Ali on the matter.

MB Azmin Ali said that he will have an audience with Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah tomorrow to present the names of 10 individuals he would like on the exco.
