Former Terengganu menteri besar Ahmad Said had given a valid reason for his absence at today’s meeting of the state legislative assembly, said speaker Mohd Zubir Embong.

“I am happy with the smooth running of the meeting with the attendance of all the 32 but one assemblypersons,” he told reporters outside the House.

Ahmad, who had been the menteri besar since 2008, resigned last May. He was succeeded by Seberang Takir assemblyperson Ahmad Razif Abdul Rahman.
