PAS deputy president Mohamad Sabu today reiterated that his party will turn down the menteri besar position ahead of news that the Selangor sultan has decided on a candidate who will be sworn in next Tuesday.

"We stand by our Sept 7 PAS central committee meeting which said we will reject the position if it is given to PAS," he told journalists on the sidelines of the 60th PAS Muktamar in Batu Pahat, Johor today.

However, Mohamad, better known as Mat Sabu, said he was still clueless about who the sultan has decided on.

Meanwhile, PAS PAS secretary-general Mustafa Ali (right), when asked if PAS will accept the menteri besar position if offered, insisted the menteri besar seat belonged to PKR.

"We already have a decision that it belongs to PKR, that's the PAS central committee decision," he said.

When pressed further, he said the matter is the sultan's prerogative and Pakatan must accept the sultan's decision.

"Everyone must accept, not only PAS," he said.

However, Mustafa  said he too has yet to receive information about the swearing in or who is the new menteri besar.

In a related development, Selangor exco Sallehen Mukhyi said he has been informed of the swearing-in on Tuesday but has yet to receive a formal invitation.

"I only found out today from a 'penghulu' who had received an early invitation," he said.

Asked if he was the menteri besar candidate, he replied: "No...we don't know".
