It's a myth that a strong government will result in a good governance as far as the Barisan Nasional is concerned. No one can deny that they have been very strong for as long as we can remember. But that hasn't translated into a good and efficient government.

The BN government was never a good government because I believe a good government should not have let Perwaja Steel suffer a RM10 billion loss; should not have bought Malaysian Airline System shares at a unit price of RM8 when the market price was RM3.60 and should not have forced Danaharta to bear RM39.326 billion in bad loans from Bank Bumiputra, Sime Bank and 66 other financial institutions.

And to top it all, a good government should not have left the country with a total debt of RM180 billion which is what it is now!

Enough is enough. Let's give someone else the chance to prove what they can do. Just compare the performance of the Terengganu state government under the BN and under the opposition.

Under the BN, even with an annual petroleum royalty of almost RM800 million, Terengganu was the second poorest state in Malaysia with a debt of about RM700 million. But under the opposition, the debt was greatly reduced, even without the RM800 million royalty. So BN, stop bragging that you can form a good government.
